Rejoicing in the Wisdom and Wonder of Bhasa's Svapnavasavadattam
Svapnavasavadattam is a classical Sanskrit play by the ancient playwright Bhasa. It is a 6-act drama focussing on the love between King Udayana of Vatsa and Vasavadatta, the princess of Avanti, and is set within a dream sequence. The play explores themes of love, loyalty, and the emotional complexities of relationships. As one of Bhasa's significant works, it holds a special place in the history of Sanskrit drama. In this course, Dr. Shobha Vasuki covers the meaning of all the lines and verses in the nataka in an engaging and attractive manner.
