Description :
Atma Bodha, composed by Adi Shankaracharya, is a profound prakarana grantha consisting of 68 succinct verses in the simple anustup metre. True to its name, “Knowledge of the Self,” the text offers a clear and direct unfolding of Vedantic wisdom, guiding the seeker from intellectual understanding to inner clarity. Through lucid language, powerful analogies, and everyday examples, it gently reveals the nature of the Self and the means to recognize one’s true identity beyond body and mind.
This course serves as a natural progression from foundational Vedanta studies such as Introduction to Vedanta and Tattvabodha, making it ideal for learners seeking to deepen and consolidate their understanding. While it reinforces core concepts already introduced in earlier courses, Atma Bodha also expands the inquiry further - helping learners refine discrimination, strengthen reflection, and move closer to experiential clarity of Self - knowledge.
Guided by Smt. Rama Sivaraman, the course is designed not only to support textual understanding but also to encourage contemplation and internalisation of the teachings. Learners will be gently led to engage with the verses in a meaningful way, allowing the wisdom of Atma Bodha to become a lived understanding rather than merely an intellectual study.
NOTE: Students attempting this course must have gone through either Introduction to Vedanta course or Tattvabodha - A Primer to Vedanta course.
This donation will go towards Sponsoring young learners to help them to learn Atmabodha - Stepping from Primer to the Foundations of Vedanta
