Description:
This course is designed for a systematic study of the foundational structure of the Nyaya–Vaisheshika philosophy through selected classical topics. Dr. Sathyanarayana C T, will guide the students through all five Pariccheda-s of Tarkasangraha along with Deepikaa, the celebrated commentary of Annambhattacharya. Not only will this course help the learner to gain a clear and comprehensive understanding of the text, but also invite the learner to explore the seven Padartha-s, nine Dravya-s, twenty-four Guna-s, Karma, and other fundamental categories of the system. It also presents a concise study of the four Pramana-s, with special emphasis on Anumana and Hetvabhasa-s, which are widely used across shastra-s.
Also, particular attention is given to the unique insights found in the Deepikaa that are not explicitly stated in the original Tarkasangraha. Important Prameya topics such as Mangalavada, Tamovada, Atmavada, Pramanyavada, Khyativada, Vidhyarthavicara, and Moksavada will also be introduced. By the end of the course, students will acquire a strong grasp of the essential principles of Nyaya–Vaisesika Darsana and develop the foundation necessary for advanced shastra study.
Furthermore, this course will be highly beneficial for students who already have a basic understanding of Tarkasaṅgraha and seek to deepen their understanding of Nyaya–Vaisesika.
